Our mission · 我们的使命

SciBuddy is an independent bilingual learning companion built for international primary-school students in Singapore mainstream schools — particularly families navigating the transition from China's curriculum to Singapore's English-medium classrooms.

SciBuddy 是一个独立的双语学习助手,专为新加坡主流学校的国际小学生设计——尤其是从中国课程过渡到新加坡英语授课课堂的家庭。

We cover the Singapore MOE Primary Science syllabus in a bilingual format: every concept in English, read aloud, with a Chinese translation alongside. The goal is simple — help children who are strong in Chinese science build their English science vocabulary fast enough to participate in class.

我们以双语形式覆盖新加坡教育部小学科学课程:每个概念用英语呈现并朗读,同时附上中文翻译。目标很简单——帮助中文科学能力强的孩子,快速建立英语科学词汇,跟上课堂节奏。

SciBuddy content is original, derived from publicly available MOE syllabus documents. SciBuddy is not affiliated with the Ministry of Education, any school, or any textbook publisher. 所有内容均为原创,参考公开的新加坡教育部课程大纲。SciBuddy 与新加坡教育部、任何学校或教科书出版商均无关联。

Why I built this · 为什么做这个

I'm a parent, not a teacher. When my child moved to Singapore and started P3 Science, the hardest part wasn't the science — the concepts were familiar from China's curriculum. The hard part was everything was in English. "Living things", "non-living things", "characteristics" — words a Singapore kid reads casually, but a newly-arrived child from China hits as a wall.

我是一位家长,不是老师。当孩子来到新加坡开始学 P3 科学时,最难的不是科学本身——中国课程里很多概念都学过。难的是:全部都是英语。"Living things"、"non-living things"、"characteristics"——这些对新加坡孩子来说习以为常的词,对刚来的孩子来说却是一堵墙。

I couldn't find a tool that let my child hear the English while reading the Chinese. So I built one. If it helps your family too, that's exactly why it's here.

我找不到一个能让孩子一边听英语一边看中文的工具,所以就自己做了一个。如果这也能帮到你的家庭,那正是做它的意义。
